Miralee Ferrell – Romantic Interview – Part 2 of 2

Shannon here: Kregel/Summerside author Miralee Ferrell shares a romantic interview and a blurb about her book. Leave a comment on any post dated Oct 11 – Oct 15 by Oct 16, 8:00 PM Central for a chance to win Love Finds You in Bridal Veil, Oregon. Here’s Miralee:

      1.    What’s the most romantic thing your spouse has ever done for you?

He’s not a romantic person, and struggles with coming up with ideas. For me, I love it when he makes a point of really listening to me or noticing when I’m tired and offering to do something special for me that he might not enjoy doing, but does it anyway, just because he loves me.

      2.    What’s the most romantic thing you’ve ever done for your spouse?

Oh, I’m blushing here…. Let’s just say I left a trail of notes around the house that he had to read and follow one special evening, that led to a very nice ‘surprise’ in the bedroom at the end of the trail. He’s never forgotten it, either.

      3.    Where is the most romantic place you and your spouse have ever been?

I’d have to say The Bahamas. We spent a few days there this year, and got to take a hand-in-hand stroll on a very secluded beach.

      4.     Do you and your spouse have a favorite romantic restaurant?

We found a wonderful seafood restaurant in Lincoln City, OR, that has a quiet atmosphere, muted lighting and fantastic food that we visit whenever we can. We went there for an anniversary and had a cozy, romantic time over dinner.

     5.     Do you and your spouse have a favorite song?

No, he’s not musical, and I’m not either. Wish we did!

     6.     What’s the most romantic present your spouse ever bought for you?

A pendant necklace set with a single pearl and single diamond. He rarely buys me jewelry, so this was a HUGE deal for me.

     7.     What’s the most romantic present you ever bought your spouse?

He’d say a new fishing pole, LOL! He’s not into romantic stuff, so I buy him the items that say “I love you” in his language.

     8.     Do you and your spouse have a favorite romantic vacation destination?

The Oregon coast. We love sitting down on the beach at sunset on a clear evening holding hands, and occasionally smooching. Yep, after 38 yrs of marriage we are still in love!

     9.     What simple gesture does your spouse do that melts you every time?

He used to never call home unless there was a specific reason to do so. Now, he occasionally calls just to say hi and see how my day is going. For him, that’s big and for me, it’s truly special.

   10.    How soon after meeting your spouse did you know he/she was the one?

It took longer for me….I think we’d been dating about 5 months before I realized I was falling for him, then I had a panic attack a few months later, and pulled back for a bit. But once I got past that and knew for sure, I’ve never wavered.

    11.   How soon after meeting you did your spouse know you were the one?

He told me he was going to marry me before we went on our first date, LOL! In fact, he asked me out several times before I finally said yes.

   12.    Who is most romantic, you or your spouse?

You’d think from that last answer that my hubby is, but I am.

   13.    Who said, “I love you” first, you or your spouse?

Hmm…..I think I did, but after 38 yrs, I won’t swear to it!

   14.    Where did you and your spouse go for your honeymoon?

To Wallowa Lake, Oregon, and stayed in a little cabin a stone’s throw from the lake. We spend a week there and it was wonderful. Hiking, sleeping in, fishing, riding the gondola to the top of the mtn, and excellent weather.

I would like to win your book, Love finds you in Bridal Veil Oregon. I really enjoyed part 2 of your story.

  • I think your husband must be related to mine – he isn’t romantic at all! We celebrated our 25th anniversary in May of this year by taking an Alaska cruise. He did surprise me by arranging for their anniversary package, which included a special dinner, canapes one afternoon, chocolate dipped strawberries and champagne waiting in our cabin when we boarded the ship – it was a wonderful, romantic surprise!

It is the little things that have the greatest impact on me though, as you mentioned the calls to say “Hi”, things like that. I would rather have my husband do something like that out of the blue, than give me flowers & gifts like clockwork on our anniversary every year.

Thanks for sharing your real life romance with us, I thoroughly enjoyed reading your story.

    Blessings!
