  • What’s the most romantic thing your spouse has ever done for you?

He does sweet things all the time. In fact, just yesterday he gave the secretary at my office a little bag with a scripture on it and inside was a pair of silver earrings with hearts on them and the words love, and inside was a sweet card with scriptures in it. He also threw in a coffee card for our church’s coffee shop. Why did he do this? Just because he felt like it. That’s what he told me. There was no special occasion. That’s romantic, right?

  • What’s the most romantic thing you’ve ever done for your spouse?

We went on a date once before we were married and there was a big band playing outside at a park. It started to rain and we danced anyway and got soaking wet. He still talks about how romantic that was (I encouraged him to do it.)

  •  Do you and your spouse have a favorite romantic restaurant?

There are several in the city where we live. We like the candlelit ones that have steaks, salads, and good deserts. Not chain restaurants. The one we love for anniversaries and such is called, “The Outside Inn.”

  • Do you and your spouse have a favorite song?

Steven Curtis Chapman has a song we used at our wedding in 1990. It was pretty new at the time and now it’s used for weddings all the time. It’s called “I Will Be Here.” Every time I hear it I think of our wedding day.

  •  What’s the most romantic present your spouse ever bought for you?

Besides the gift yesterday? He got me a pair of earrings back when we were first married and it had a mustard seed in each earring. He said it represented his love for me and how it had grown so much in the time we’d been married.

  •  What simple gesture does your spouse do that melts you every time?

Probably when he looks me in the eyes, touches my face, and tells me I’m beautiful.

  • How soon after meeting your spouse did you know he was the one?

Probably about a year. He was a lot older than me and we were friends first. He led the singles Bible study I attended and I kept telling myself he was too old for me. But I couldn’t help falling in love with those baby blue eyes full of emotion when he talked about Jesus.

  • How soon after meeting you did he know you were the one?

He said he resisted falling for me, too, because I was only 22 at the time. But we were at a restaurant once and he said the Lord spoke to his heart and told him that I was the one for him. It was our second official date, I think.

  • Who is most romantic, you or your spouse?

 Definitely my husband.

  •  Where did you and your spouse go for your honeymoon?

On a camping trip. Don’t ask. Not my idea of a good time.

About Michelle: Michelle Sutton has been either a social worker or a supervisor of social workers for over 25 years. She has plenty of fodder for interesting novels that have accumulated over the years in her memory. She has been writing since 2003 and has 20 books in print. Michelle lives with her husband in Arizona and they have two college age sons.

About the book – Collette’s Crusade: Collette wants to help needy parents…just not her own.

After her first day on the job, Collette believes she must be the world’s worst social worker. She’s never seen a cockroach, let alone an infested trailer. She’s not sure how to deal with such living conditions, but she’s required to fulfill her one-year contract, or repay the university for her full tuition, which costs much more than she’d make at the agency her first year. Enter sexy marriage and family therapist Mark Wilcox, and suddenly things don’t look so bleak. That is, until she remembers he’s the man who tried to discourage her from getting her Master’s Degree in the first place. Proving him wrong gives her a reason to try harder to succeed. Then she finds out Mark has a secret. He’s her divorced parents’ marriage therapist. While her parents’ eventual goal is to remarry, she’s against it. Whose side will he take?
