The Christmas Stalking by Lillian Duncan Lillian Duncan & hubby

We met (again), fell in love, got married, and lived happily ever after! Or so the story goes, right?

Well, yes and no.

I’m happy to report that my husband and I recently celebrated our twelfth anniversary of marriage. I don’t have a doubt in the world that we’re going to go the distance—you know the until death do us part part.

That’s the yes part of yes and no. So, what’s the no part?

In the romantic suspense books I write, the story usually ends with the hero and the heroine finally expressing their love for each other, knowing that their future is bright and happy.

But what’s not written in my books is that life continues.

Life happens. Some of it is wonderful and some of it is not! But that’s where real love steps up to the plate, not the sweet, blissful, romantic love that happens in books and movies.

That romantic kind of love is wonderful, of course. But real love goes deeper and is more meaningful than that. It’s the kind of love that only God can implant in our hearts.

In May of 2012, I was diagnosed with bilateral brain tumors. After research and listening to the doctors, it didn’t sound so bad. I’d have the treatments, and then our life would continue as it had which was a good thing because I really loved the life we had.

But I was wrong.

Without going into all the gory details, I’m a different person now, and that means our life and our marriage is different as well. Not bad, just different.

My husband has been there through it all for me. Loving me, supporting me, taking care of me, making me laugh and not take myself or my situation too seriously.

What an awesome godly man he is.

Like I said, he’s one of the good guys.

Anyway, what does that have to do with the title of this post—USE THE GOOD CHINA? Let me explain. If I’ve learned one thing from the past year and a half, it is that there are no guarantees in this life.

So, enjoy your life now as it is. Get out there and have fun. Go visit the people you enjoy. Go have new experiences. Go travel and see the world.

Don’t put off life. Don’t wait for the future to enjoy all the wonderful things life has to offer. Don’t use the everyday china—use the good stuff!

About the book – The Christmas Stalking

Overzealous fan or crazed stalker?

Country music superstar Destiny appears to have it all. Beauty, money, and fame. But it’s not all glitz and glamour. Being a celebrity comes with a price—loneliness, and now threats from an unknown stalker.

With Christmas approaching, and as the danger escalates in Nashville, Destiny has no choice but to disappear. She escapes to her grandparents’ cabin in the Adirondack Mountains near the tiny Village of Serenity & Peace. It seems to be the perfect choice for a hideout. Longing for the serenity and peace she experienced there as a child, Destiny sheds her celebrity persona and resumes her long-forgotten identity as Holly Stone.

Come back Sept 30th for Carole Brown!
